Rotax Max Challenge Logo The 2nd Annual Rotax Summer Shootout is 1 month away and this communication is to inform drivers of some basic items pertaining to the format and procedures. The Oklahoma Motorsports Complex will host this tune up for the September US Rotax Max Grand Nationals in September.  Scrutineering will begin on Friday. Tires, Fuel, Oil
  • Official tires will be MoJo per US Rotax Max Challenge Rules  Wet and Dry
  • All classes will be allowed 1 set of slicks starting with qualifying on Saturday.  All drivers will use the same tires on Sunday.
  • Friday afternoon a time and place will be announced for marking new tires for Saturday.
  • For qualifying on Saturday the new tires marked on Friday must be used.  Use of these tires prior to Saturday qualifying is prohibited.
  • The same tires must be presented for qualifying on Sunday and will be marked again at Sunday qualifying.
  • MoJo wet tires do not have to be new.
  • Tires do not have to be purchased from the event.  There will be some availability at the event from the Champion Racing and the multiple dealers who will be present.
  • Official fuel and oil will be VP MS93 and Motul 8002T.  Fuel and Oil will be available at the track.
  • As this is an open event for all countries passports do not have to be US.
Transponders
  • AMB timing and scoring will be used
  • Transponders will not be available at the track. It is the responsibility of all participants to bring their own transponders or make arrangements prior to the event for transponder rental.
Scrutineering and Scheduling
  • Scrutineering will be done on Friday, and available for late arrivals on Saturday morning.
  • Each race day will consist of a morning warm up, qualifying, pre-final, (LCR if needed) and Final.  Every effort possible will be made to not run Last Chance Races.
  • Practice Schedule for Friday will be posted late Thursday.
  • Race Day Schedules for Sat and Sun will be posted late Friday.
  • Drivers Briefing will be Saturday morning at 8AM. Saturday morning warm up will start immediately following the drivers briefing.
Membership requirements
  • All Rotax racers are welcome.  Those who are not USRMC members will be required to purchase a temporary membership at the cost of $10.00 for the event. Temporary membership forms will be available at the track.  For Rotax racers from countries other than the United States, Rotax license or CIK Licenses will be recognized and accepted.  For non US members without a home country or CIK license a temporary membership will be required.
