Lockhart, TX - Intrepid North America importer Champion Racing provided factory track support at the 2013 Lone Star Grand Prix held in Lockhart, TX March 2nd & 3rd, 2013 and is very pleased with the race results and podium finishes by the team members.

Brett Berryhill oversaw the trackside program managing the engines, data acquisition and data analysis.

Jesse Woodyard won the #1 top podium spot in both Tag Junior and Stock Honda Junior with the help of his father and mechanic Tory Woodyard. In Tag Junior qualifying Woodyard was 1 second faster than Cole Glasson in P2, won the pre-final with a 13 second lead and repeated the performance in the 12 lap final with more than 20 seconds between him and Cole Glasson. In Stock Honda Junior the competition was a lot closer and Woodyard qualified in P2 just .046 seconds behind pole sitter Derek Scott Jr. Woodyard won both the prefinal and the final heats with just 2 seconds between him and Derek Scott Jr.

Ryan Kinnear teamed up with mechanic Jordy Vorrath for the weekend. Kinnear did not qualify or run in the pre-final in 125 Modified/ICC so he could concentrate on the Stock Honda Light class. However, after starting in the back he finished in 2nd place in 125 Modified/ICC in the final heat! Kinnear qualified 6th in Stock Honda Light, finished the pre-final in 5th place and came in 2nd place, for the second time that day, in the final heat just 2/10th of a second ahead of team member Alex Tartaglia.

Alex Tartaglia had his father mechanic Paul Tartaglia helping him. Alex qualified in 3rd place in Stock Honda Light and was consistent all weekend, finishing 3rd in the pre-final and 3rd again in the final heat right behind team member Ryan Kinnear.

Gary Butler, teamed up with mechanic Aaron Senters, made a strong come back after not racing for 6 years. Butler qualified 6th in the 23 kart TAG Master class, 6th in the pre-final and finished the final heat in the 4th podium spot.

Tyler Fling with mechanic Rodney Berryhill qualified 9th in Stock Honda Light. Fling was in 6th place in the pre-final when he was collected in an accident in the last lap of the heat. After starting the final from 21st place he made it up to 6th place before a reed broke causing him to limp across the finish line in 9th place.

Rey Ferreyro, with the help of his mechanic dad Rey Ferreyro Sr., qualified in 3rd place in Tag Junior, retired early from the pre-final in 5th place and finished the final heat in 3rd spot.
